2. Bamboo fabric history:

3. Bamboo fabric manufacturing process:
The manufacturing process of bamboo fabric includes such stages from raw materials processing, knitting, dyeing and finishing.
Raw materials processing
There are two ways to process bamboo into fabric: mechanical and chemical process.
- The mechanical process includes crushing the bamboo wood, using natural enzymes to break the bamboo cell walls and creating a mushy mass. The natural fibers can be mechanically combed out and spun into yarn.
- The chemical process includes soaking the crushed bamboo cellulose in a sodium hydroxide solution to form alkali cellulose. The alkali cellulose is crashed by a grinder and dried during 24 hours.
Knitting, dyeing and finishing
Knitting should be carried out in low moisture and low tension. After knitting, we get ivory white bamboo fiber fabrics. Bamboo fibers are sensitive to acid or alkali so using reactive dyestuff is suitable for dyeing.
Finishing: the fabric is finished to improve soft, durable and anti-proof its properties. This process may involve adding chemical treatments, physical treatments such as anti-proof finish, brushing or sanding the fabric.

5. Types of bamboo fabric:
There are three main types of bamboo fabric: viscose, tencel and linen bamboo fabric.
- Viscose or rayon bamboo fabric is made from cellulose fibers.
- Tencel bamboo fabric is manufactured with modern technology. It is high durable and anti-shrinkable.
- Linen bamboo fabric is a combination of common linen and bamboo fibers. It is durable, long-lasting and cool.
