WHAT IS CASHMERE FABRIC?
Cashmere fabric is a wool fabric that is made from the fur of cashmere goats.
TYPES OF CASHMERE FABRIC
1. Cashmere wool
Cashmere wool has origin from the cashmere goat of the Gobi Desert and Kashmir regions. It is fine, soft and strong.
2. Pashmina wool
A close relative of the cashmere goats, the pashmina goats produce fibers so similar to cashmere that these two types of fabric are often confused together.
3. Grade A cashmere
Grade A cashmere is known as an extremely soft and comfortable fabric.
4. Grade B cashmere
Grade B Cashmere is not soft and maybe slightly scratchy and rough.
5. Grade C cashmere
Grade C is rough and thick grade of cashmere wool. It is commonly used in clothes that have less or no contact with the skin.
CASHMERE FABRIC MANUFACTURING PROCESS
1. Collecting the fur of cashmere goats
The fur is collected by hand-combing or machines without harming skin of goats.
2. Cleaning
The fur is processed to remove dirt or impurities.
3. Combing & spinning
The fur is combed separately and spun into fibers by machines.
4. Dyeing & knitting
The cashmere fibers are dyed and knitted into textile products.

- Wash cashmere by hand, soak clothes in a basin of cold water, then remove it from the water and squeeze out the excess water.
- Be careful to clean cashmere using mild soap and can even look for detergents that are formulated specifically for cashmere.
- Do not hang clothes as this will stretch the fibers.
